Eligibility and Admission Criteria:

  • Passed 10+2 Science or equivalent (with Physics, Chemistry & Biology) with 50% aggregate in total marks of GPA 2.4 or, Applicants who  have  passed  the Health  Science  Proficiency Certificate / Diploma with  at least  50% aggregate in  total marks  &  registered at  Council as per related educational program
  • Physically and mentally fit
  • Must Pass the Entrance Examination conducted by Medical Education Commission of Nepal

Total  no. of  intake in One Academic Year  :   20

The Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) Program aims to prepare public health professionals with the highest technical and managerial competence to support the national health care system. BPH graduates are experts in health problem/needs identification, health system planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. They are also capable of conducting health training, providing health education, developing and implementing preventive and promotive health services, and conducting health research. Such professionals can serve in various types of positions at the central, provincial, district, and local levels through governmental or non-governmental health agencies, INGOs, hospitals, schools, research centers, academic institutes, etc.

Objectives of the Program

The objective of the Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) program is to produce competent graduates with the advanced knowledge and practical skills necessary to deliver high-quality public health services as per need of country. Specifically, the program entails the following objectives:

  • Provide advanced knowledge and practical skills in public health.
  • Develop the required skills in designing, analyzing, and evaluating applied public health science research and management.
  • Equip public health graduates with effective skills of communication and group organization / dynamic skills for promoting community participation in health and development activities, ultimately leading to individual and community self-reliance in health services and improvement in the health status of people.
  • Enable and make students confident on the general and specific public health issues that affect the health of general population
  • Foster positive attitudes among the graduates and encourage them to work in disadvantaged, marginalized and rural communities.
  • Develop the leadership capacity among the graduates so that they can lead the different public health related programs taken under health care system at national, provincial and local levels.
  • Enhance the competence of graduates to plan, implement, and evaluate promotive, preventive health actions and programs and to establish various rehabilitative services for minimizing the long-term health effectsprotecting the health of the population, and restoring the health of the population.
  • Provide clear visualizations of three public health domains (thematic, actions, and interventions)

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION:

  • Photocopy of Mark-Sheets and Character Certificate of SLC and 10+2 or ISc. or any PCL Health Sciences
  • Photocopy of Migration and Provisional Certificate
  • Photocopy of Citizenship Certificate
  • Six Copies of PP size Photographs
  • Duly filled admission Form

3.1       COURSE EVALUATION SCHEME

There will be final examination at the end of each consecutive semester. This will carry 80% marks in final examination and 20% marks will carry by internal assessment. A student has to get minimum 50% mark in theory and 60% marks in practical separately to pass the subject. Internal assessment will not be taken for practical subject (PSD, FHE and TPP).
